The Media Diversity Institute – Western Balkans is once again launching a call for entries for the MLADI Award as part of the YOU(th) CARE for CHANGE project. The themes of this year’s competition are:

  1. The gender perspective of climate change and artificial intelligence
  2. Women as drivers of environmental and social change

The goal of this competition is to encourage young people to think critically about the impact of climate change and artificial intelligence on society—with a particular focus on the gender perspective—and to recognize and highlight the importance of women in driving environmental and social change. We encourage participants to explore how climate change and the development of new technologies affect women and men differently, as well as how artificial intelligence can contribute to creating a fairer and more sustainable society.

The winner will be notified via email on October 16, 2026. The results will also be published on our MLADI website and MLADI social media channels. Additionally, a symbolic award—a plaque—will be presented on October 30 at an event we are planning as part of Media and Information Literacy Week, which is observed annually from October 24 to 31.

The winner in the multimedia content category will receive a net cash prize of 45,000 dinara neto.

Details

  • You must be a young person aged 15 to 30.
  • You must live in Serbia.
  • Choose a multimedia format—podcast, essay, article, meme, video, photograph, or any other format that suits you.
  • Content that spreads, incites, or promotes hate speech or violence will not be considered.
  • Entries must be original and previously unpublished.
  • You must be the sole author of the work (no using other people’s photographs, footage, or texts).

The application deadline is October 4, 2026, at 11:59 PM. You can submit your entries via email to aleksandar@media-diversity.org with the subject line “MLADI nagrada” (MLADI Award).
